Jane is here!

Jane Isabelle Higginson was born on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:32 am. She weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 22.75 inches long. Mommy and baby are doing great! Our first child, Eli was born via emergency c-section. We decided to try for the "vaginal birth after cesarean" (VBAC) with Jane. Amber's due date came and went (December 6th), and the doctor said that if Amber had not gone into labor by December 14th, then they would do a c-section again. Thanks to the prayers of many family and friends, little Jane was able to be delivered vaginally. In fact, the labor at the hospital was relatively easy, as Amber received an epidural and only had to push during 6 contractions. Jane was born about an hour and 45 minutes after we arrived at the hospital. We're so thankful that everything went well.

Being weighed modestly! Notice the perfect foot placement!!

Do you like the mohawk?

Janie getting her first bath from the nurse.

I'm clean!

Aunt Anita and Uncle Kipp and their girls (Allie, Sydney and Chelsea) visited us in the hospital. While Nita was holding Jane, she pointed out this great pose with Jane holding her little hands to her face.

What you lookin' at?!

Heading home!

Eli is loving being a big brother!

Grandma Jensen has been a great help to us.

Our little baller!

Eli loves playing basketball (to the delight of his father ;)). Here he is practicing his free throws. He also likes to watch Utah Jazz games with his daddy.

Halloween 2010

Here is our adorable little Cowboy! He loves his cowboy shirt, I think he's worn it to bed twice this week.

Not much of a learning curve here! Eli jumped right in and was loving getting the candy!

Every year at Trunk-or-Treat they serve hot cider and donuts. What a perfect dinner with a side of candy, candy and more candy.

Eli and his thug daddy!

Eli's friends Troy and Claire. Sally made Claire's costume all by herself! She is so talented!

Sally also made Avery's adorable little witch costume. Nice hair Dustin!

Coltin, Kathy and Seth looking very tough.

Eli chillin' in the rain with Ashley, Allen and Baby Ty

I'm glad Eli had a good time. We had to wake him up when we got there because he had fallen asleep on the car ride over. Plus, at the start it was pouring rain! Thank goodness for the big old cowboy hat! Candy cures all I suppose. This was his first Halloween where he actually got it and it was really fun.

Back to the 80's Baby!!

Jed was the winner of the best male costume. What a thug! I just looked like a giant pink fuzz ball. But we could not leave such a nasty vest at Value Village, it would have been a shame.

All the ladies looking mighty fine!

The men. Whew!

The hosts: prom King and Queen, Dustin and Sally. You guys sure know how to throw a party!

Ashley and Allen...aka "Pretty in Pink" and the Care Bear

Em and John. "Richard Simmons" won the award for the most scandalous man! Emily makes the perfect Barbie!

Kathy won the award for most scandalous woman. Lucky Seth.

To quote Michelle "Apparently I came dressed as everybody's mother." Very authentic! And Matt is none other than MacGyver.

Ben and Brooke. You guessed it...Star Wars! Ben actually came up with both costumes, good work! Brooke won the "best hair" award for the girls.

Richard "the flat top" (best hair award winner among the guys) Christensen and his blushing bride Jessica.

Johnny and Leslie. Johnny made a great entrance with a boom box and a big piece of cardboard for break dancing.

Hilary won the best costume for the girls and Adam was the most authentic.

Kevin and Jana. Kevin won the award for best rocker. Nice hair! Sweet dress!

Debi as a troll doll. Please note the jewel in the belly-button and the amazing hair!

Only Jen could pull this off so elegantly!

Jeremy sporting a "Members Only" jacket and Ricki.

We had such a blast! I love Halloween and getting all dressed up. Jed really got into it this year so now he knows I'm not just crazy for thinking it's fun to get decked out. It may have been partially due to the fact it was an 80's party and Jed loves the 80's! He created an awesome play list and we danced our hearts out!

He's just cute!

Here is Eli helping daddy clean up the cords behind the TV.

He really looks like he knows what he is doing.

I told Eli it was time for a bath and he went runing off. When I got to the bathroom, this is what I found. See his clothes on the floor? He was ready to get in!

Eli's Birthday Party!

Here is the birthday boy! We went with cookies instead of cake because he LOVES cookies! He had a good day.

I think the singing really made him happy!

The day was perfect! The sky was blue and the air was cool. I love fall! He played and played.

Feeding the ducks.

Sorry to all who have been waiting for birthday pictures. Eli is such a great little boy and we can not believe he is two! He is so sweet and loving. He loves to cuddle, give hugs and kisses. He loves to dance and play with his friends.

Here is a list of cute things Eli says right now.
"sishies" = fish
"bom-pa" = grandpa
"how-we" = hungry
"boppers" = diapers
"pow-we" = potty
"ba-ma" = grandma
"su-suit" = swimsuit
"Li-Li" = Eli
Also, he says "I want" in front of everything. Like "I want let's go" or "I want change de boppers".

Ukulele

Is he not the cutest child you have ever seen? Our friend Kathy was watching him while I went to the Dr and he learned to play the ukulele! He looks so chill!

Now, for a story from Eli's two year old check up. Eli is so good at the Dr throught the poking and prodding. At the end of his visit he needed to get the flu shot. As the MA was getting the shot ready I explained to Eli that it was medicine. He carefully watched as the needle went into his thigh. Then with out any sign of the shot bothering him , he said "I feel better!" He told everyone in the elevator on the way back down to the car about his "mec-ci-cin" and "bam-bade" and "feel better". Ahh, I love this kid!
