Bowling

Yesterday we went bowling with our good friends from our ward, Adam and Hilary. We had a great time with them. The best part was watching Eli! This is the first time that he has gone bowling. He looked like such a little stud, carrying his little 6 pound bowling ball up to the lane. He would then push the ball with 2 hands and watch with anticipation as it traveled toward the pins at a speed of about 0.15 miles per hour. It was so fun to see the excitement on his little face.

One time he got so excited, that he took off running down the lane after the ball as soon as he let it go. He ran about 2 steps before he fell flat on his back. Thankfully he didn't hit his head. Being the tough kid that he is, he just popped right back up without a cry or a whine at all.

Another funny moment...he noticed that another party bowling a couple of lanes to the left of us had a nice big pitcher full of apple juice. Well...at least that's what Eli probably thought it was. Of course, it was actually beer, but Eli didn't know that; he just wanted a drink of whatever was in that pitcher!! So, he started walking over there. When Amber realized what he was doing, she ran over to him and grabbed his hand to lead him back to us. All the while, Eli was pointing, longingly, in the direction of that delicious-looking "apple juice."

So, if you have not noticed by now, I am pretty bad at keeping you all updated. Thus I need to make an announcement for those of you who have not heard. I am pregnant with baby #2! I only have 12 weeks left and I am due December 6th. We are all very excited. Eli is already a pro at praying for his little "sis-ser". We are going to name her Jane Isabelle, unless it turns out there is really a boy in there again! Eli LOVES babies, hopefully that will still be the case when he has one of his own. I will post some baby bump pictures when I have some. Sorry I'm so bad at the updates, but I'm pretty sure most of you already knew.

Ruby Beach

Behold Ruby Beach! One of the most beautiful places we've ever seen. We had heard it was a beatiful place to go, but had no idea that there were rock formations there. It reminded us of Cannon Beach, Oregon. Ruby Beach is another place that we stopped at during our Olympic Peninsula trip. We're grateful that Jed's aunt, Anita, gave so many great suggestions of where to visit.

Eli had a great time exploring he rocky beach. He loved to jump off of the 2 inch high stones. ;) He had a fun time climbing on the driftwood as well. He also learned a lot from the signs along the trail!

Hoh Rainforest

There are 3 rainforests on the Olympic Peninsula. We stopped at the Hoh Rainforest. The Hoh Valley gets 142 inches of rain each year. And you thought Seattle was rainy (34 inches/year). FYI--Phoenix, AZ gets about 7 inches/year. Beautiful country! We love the Great Northwest!

We are NOT Twilight Fans!!!

Just for the record, as the title of this post states...WE ARE NOT TWILIGHT FANS!!! Forks, Washington of course is the setting for the twilight books. We haven't read them or watched the movies, but we have heard enough of the frenzy to know that it is based out of Forks. As were driving towards Ruby Beach, we passed through this little town. It was pretty hilarious to watch all of the teenage girls and giddy middle-aged women running around getting pictures of all of the Twilight paraphernalia while their dads and husbands waited patiently in their cars.

More Game Farm Pics and Crescent Lake

Here are some more pictures from the Game Farm, as well as a couple of pics from Crescent Lake, also on the Olympic Peninsula. Jed's cousin, Brian Bentley, spent the week with us. He took the picture of our little family. We had a great time with him.

As you can see, those elk were pretty huge! We were warned by the park officials to not feed the elk or buffalo, but he car in front of us didn't listen!

We recently went out to the Olympic Peninsula and went to a really cool game farm. We were able to touch and pet a lot of the animals, as well as feed them. We had a great time, although it was a little scary with horses, zebras, and yaks sticking their heads in our car!
