Eli woke up a little early this morning and was extremely distraught. When I went in to pick him up from his crib, he was reaching up and facing the opposite side of his crib. I think he was disoriented and that really scared him. I was trying to comfort him. I tried sitting and rocking him and giving him his cup of milk, but nothing worked. He was just screaming and screaming. At 5:55am the only thing that would comfort my boy was the spice cupboard. He stood up on the counter and started playing with all the little jars and was instantly happy. Go figure. I guess I had better get him a kitchen set!

Zucchini Everything
Eli does not seem to like his veggies (or fruit for that matter) very much, so I am trying to get creative. Apparently, zucchini goes in just about everything. I started with pancakes and quesadillas and that worked well. Then I tried grating zucchini rather than cutting it into little chunks in Eli’s spaghetti. Very inconspicuous I must say, it just looks like a little green spice. Then, the best idea yet, smoothies! I threw about a fourth of a zucchini in the blender with some yogurt, peaches and strawberries. Eli loved it! I was so proud knowing that those little green flecks in his milkshake mustache hovering over a giant grin were something good for him.

Food. To eat or to organize?
This is the first time Eli ventured into his yogurt on his own. I left him alone for a minute and this is what I found.
I had put Goldfish and pretzels in the same container for church. Monday morning, the first thing Eli does is get two new containers and separate the pretzels into one and the Goldfish into the other. I guess I won't be introducing him to Chex Mix any time soon
